Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clovr (“Clovr,” “we,” “us”), the company behind ClovrDealr, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, handles personal information in connection with ClovrDealr and its AI assistant, “Taylor” — an automated sales agent that engages a car dealership’s leads over text message — with the Clovr sales-coaching platform, and when you visit this website.
1. Our role
When a dealership uses ClovrDealr, that dealership decides what information is collected from its leads and why. The dealership is the organization accountable for that information (the “controller” / “business”), and Clovr acts on its behalf as a service provider / processor under written agreement. For information collected directly through this marketing website, Clovr is the accountable organization.
2. Information we process
From the dealership or customer. Account and contact details for your staff, billing information, and the credentials or tokens you provide so Taylor can connect to your website, lead sources (e.g. AutoTrader, Cars.com, CarGurus, Facebook), and inventory feed.
From leads and customers, on the dealership’s behalf. Name and mobile phone number; the content of text messages exchanged with Taylor; the vehicles a lead asks about and their stated preferences; trade-in details a lead shares (e.g. year, make, model, mileage, photos); and appointment and visit information.
Call data (Clovr sales-coaching platform). Audio, transcripts, and derived analytics from sales calls you record through Clovr, along with the metadata you associate with them.
Automatically. Usage, device, and diagnostic data, plus cookies on this website.
3. How we use information
To operate Taylor — answering, qualifying, following up with, and booking appointments for leads; to route hot leads and alert your team; to provide real-time coaching and post-call analytics on the Clovr platform; to provide support, billing, and security; to keep the records required for messaging compliance; and to maintain and improve the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use lead conversations to train third-party AI models.
4. Legal bases and compliance
We and our dealership customers handle personal information in line with applicable law, which may include Canada’s PIPEDA (privacy) and CASL(commercial electronic messages), and — for dealerships messaging U.S. consumers — the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and applicable state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA. Text campaigns run on 10DLC-registered numbers.
5. Text messaging and consent
Taylor sends and receives text messages on the dealership’s behalf. The dealership is responsible for obtaining the consent required to message each lead (express consent under CASL for Canadian recipients; prior express consent under the TCPA for U.S. recipients) and for honoring opt-outs. Taylor honors opt-out keywords (for example, replying STOP), respects configurable quiet hours, and keeps a log of every conversation to support compliance and recordkeeping.
6. Call recording and consent
Where the Clovr sales-coaching platform is used, you are responsible for obtaining all consents and providing all notices required by applicable law before recording, transcribing, or analyzing any call through Clovr.
7. AI processing
Messages are processed by third-party AI providers to generate Taylor’s responses; where voice or call transcription is used, a speech provider processes that audio. These providers act as our sub-processors under confidentiality obligations and, where offered, zero-data-retention terms, and do not use your data to train their models.
8. Sub-processors
We rely on a limited set of vendors to run the service, which by category include: an AI model provider for Taylor’s responses; a speech provider for voice/transcription; a registered SMS/telephony provider for message delivery; and cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and storage. A current list of named sub-processors is available on request and may change as the service evolves.
9. Sharing
Beyond our sub-processors, we share information with the dealership whose leads are being handled, and with others where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of people or the public. We do not sell personal information.
10. Retention
We retain conversation records and related data for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet the dealership’s legal and compliance recordkeeping needs, after which we delete or de-identify it. Customers may request deletion of their data, subject to legal retention requirements.
11. Security
Personal information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted on a need-to-know basis, and we maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect it. Our full security overview, subprocessor list, and compliance documentation live in our Trust Center.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to withdraw consent. If you are a lead or customer, please direct your request to the dealership you were in contact with (the organization accountable for your data); we will support them in honoring it. If you are a dealership or platform customer, contact us and we will help. You can opt out of Taylor’s messages at any time by replying STOP.
13. Cookies
This website uses essential cookies to function and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
14. Children
Clovr and ClovrDealr are business tools and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
15. International processing
Clovr is based in Canada, and information may be processed in Canada and the United States by us and our sub-processors. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for cross-border transfers, and information may be accessible to courts and authorities in those jurisdictions.
16. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
